Thompsons Solicitors has expanded its serious injuries team in the North East with the appointment of David Robinson to the firm's Newcastle office.

David, 24, originally from Middlesborough, has returned to the region after working for Manchester-based Pannones for two years. He brings with him a wide experience in dealing with personal injury claims involving brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, serious burns, amputations and other catastrophic injuries.

He said: "It is a pleasure to return to my hometown and to be working for Thompsons Solicitors. The serious injuries team is challenging work but it is also extremely fulfilling to help those who have been involved in terrible accidents achieve justice."

David joins existing members of the team Mick Laffey, in Thompsons' South Shields office, and team head, Andrew McDonald, in the Middlesbrough office.

The North East serious injuries team has already dealt with a number of high profile cases including the case of Mark Cook who sustained a spinal cord injury in a road traffic accident.

Andrew McDonald said: "Thompsons has a solid reputation for successfully representing clients who have suffered catastrophic accidents. With the expansion of our dedicated team we can provide our clients with added expertise within our centre of excellence.

"David has many years of specialist personal injury claims experience. He understands how complicated serious injury claims can be, but also understands how traumatic it can be for the client and will ensure to deliver a service which is sympathetic, sensitive and respectful."
