For 13 years she has represented a wide range of clients suffering from personal injuries where compensation normally ranged between £10,000 and £25,000 (so-called “fast track” cases). The cases often involved trips, slips and other accidents at work.

SARAH’S CASE EXPERIENCE

Sarah secured compensation of £7,500 for a client who underwent dental surgery to have the root of a tooth removed following a previous extraction. However the dentist pulled out another tooth entirely. It was the only one left in that section of the gum and was supporting a denture.

Sarah proved that the client should have higher than normal compensation for the removal of a tooth by mistake because it supported the denture.

In another botched dental procedure, a piece of a tooth were left behind during an extraction but the dentist cut the claimants’ tongue with a drill in the attempt to remove it. The client was given three stitches in the wound and sent to hospital.

The dentist tried on a second occasion to remove the stump, but without success. Eventually it was removed in hospital under general anaesthetic. Sarah’s client was awarded £3,500 for the pain and discomfort he had experienced over several months.

Damages of £14,000 were secured for a claimant who was sick up to three times a day for around three months because of a delay in treating an extreme form of acid reflux. Sarah claimed a loss of salary as well as a loss of profit on behalf of the man because he was the sole director of his own company.
