Peter is a highly experienced IT professional, responsible for developing and maintaining Thompsons Solicitors’ business processes, IT systems strategy and operations across the firm’s offices in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Based in Leeds, Peter’s role is both strategic and operational, providing key support to all the firm’s teams and offices. Overseeing teams of specialists in various locations - including a support desk, systems analysts looking at new ideas and needs, computer programme developers, and engineers dealing with the infrastructure and networks - Peter ensures staff can operate efficiently and effectively.
Thompsons Solicitors head-hunted Peter because of his 20-plus years’ experience of working as a high-level IT professional in legal firms. Peter’s task was to bring Thompsons’ IT systems, business support systems and telephony up-to-date. Advising the firm to invest significantly in technology, Peter completely and comprehensively modernised the firms’ outdated and cumbersome systems, completing the work of 10 years in less than four.
It is a phenomenal achievement of which Peter is rightly proud, and has led to new ways of working. Clients, whether victims of serious injury, road traffic accidents, criminal law, industrial disease or medical negligence, receive a more responsive, more flexible and faster service as a result. A keen cyclist, in his spare time Peter can be found competing in races and cycling events, representing his local cycling club.
