Janet is the treasurer of Headway Leeds, a charity which aims to help support, rebuild and improve the lives of acquired brain injury survivors and their families. She is also a committee member of the South Yorkshire branch of the UK Acquired Brain Injury Forum, which promotes the understanding of brain injury by raising awareness through education and information.

- Secured £2.8 million for woman who was run over on a pedestrian crossing by a motorcycle that had been driven through a red light, suffering multiple injuries, including a brain haemorrhage and an unstable fracture of the neck.
- Secured a settlement of £395,000 for a client whose right foot was driven over by a forklift truck, leaving him with chronic pain syndrome and psychological injuries.
