David Wright was employed as a machine minder and had received only one week of training before being asked to operate a particular machine. As he attempted to step down from the machine onto the floor, he stepped onto a bundle of pipes, causing him to trip and fall. He injured his lower back in the accident and recovered £32,000 in compensation with the help from Thompsons Solicitors.
