Marcell Arnold is a highly experienced Costs Draftsperson with over 25 years of expertise. She manages her own caseload and is proficient in preparing formal bills, costs budgets, budget discussion reports, variations, statements of costs for summary assessment (N260s), estimates, replies to points of dispute, and conducting negotiations. Her work primarily focuses on high-value Serious Injury, Asbestos, and Clinical Negligence cases.

Marcell consistently provides strategic costs management advice on complex, high-value files, working collaboratively with colleagues to maximise cost recovery.

Marcell specialises in attending and conducting CCMC and assessment hearings across the country on behalf of the firm. She is known for her strong negotiation skills, which consistently lead to successful outcomes in cost recovery.

She also mentors junior team members, offering guidance on complex issues and providing valuable advice to support their professional development.

Marcell began her career in 1995 as a junior team member atWhittles Solicitors. Through hard work, determination, and excellent communication skills, she quickly progressed.

Following a merger with Thompsons Solicitors in 2008, her expertise expanded significantly. Initially specialising in Disease, WRULD, RSI, and Deafness cases — all known for their complexity and high success fees — Marcell advanced to managing high-value cases, which remain her current area of focus.

Outside of work, Marcell enjoys watching her children play sports, spending quality time with her family, and going on dog walks. Her latest passion project involves converting a campervan to travel and explore new places with her husband.

The case, ongoing for over a decade, involves a minor claimant who sustained severe injuries and learning difficulties due tothe defendant’s negligence in an RTA. After a failed JSM, additional medical evidence is being gathered to move the case toward resolution.
