Supervisory Board

The role and purpose of the Thompsons Supervisory Board is set out in our partnership (LLP) deed – the firm’s governing document and constitution.

The responsibility of the Supervisory Board encompasses four broad areas.

  • Policy: establishing and reviewing the business strategy
  • Supervision: to supervise the management of the business
  • Finance: the management of capital, audits, accounts and the protection of assets
  • Membership: including elections, retirements, redundancies and discipline.

It is the responsibility of all members of the Supervisory Board to ensure that they play a full part and that collectively, the Board fulfils all of these roles to the best effect.

Our Supervisory Board is composed in the following way.

The Chief Executive and Executive Board members are Supervisory Board members by virtue of their roles within the firm.

Elected members are Board members for a period of two years after which they may stand for re-election. Two Elected Members’ positions on the Board are elected annually.

Non-Executive Directors are engaged on fixed-term contracts.
