Clare, as head of legal practice, is responsible for ensuring that Thompsons Solicitors complies with all its regulatory and professional obligations set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) – the professional organisation that sets standards for the legal profession.
Clare’s enthusiasm and passion for preserving and valuing the pioneering work of Thompsons in pushing forward the boundaries of workers’ rights, is recognised and respected by the branch managers and directors who report to her.
In her role, Clare has created an environment where the next generation of Thompsons Solicitors’ lawyers are actively encouraged to pursue the sort of pioneering cases for which the firm has built a reputation. Clare constantly strives to support and to bring forward innovative and forward looking ideas, so that Thompsons is there looking after workers’ rights for the next 100 years.
Starting out as a personal injury specialist, Clare was attracted by Thompsons Solicitors’ ethic of putting workers’ rights to the fore and joined the firm in 1996. Clare was branch manager in Thompsons’ London regional offices, then the south east network of offices, before her appointment as operations director in 2015.
