Abbie Higgins is an Assistant Lawyer based in Thompsons Solicitors’ Sheffield office, specialising in personal injury litigation.

Abbie has worked at Thompsons for six years and has progressed through a number of roles within the firm during that time. She began her career in an administrative position before moving into the litigation team, where she became the sole costs and damages processor. Building on this experience, Abbie progressed to a Paralegal role before becoming an RTA Lawyer in 2023, predominantly managing the team’s Motor Insurers’ Bureau cases. As her expertise developed, she took on responsibility for her own fast-track litigation caseload.

Now working as an Assistant Lawyer within the litigation team, Abbie continues to build on her legal knowledge and experience while supporting clients through a wide range of personal injury claims. Her career progression reflects her commitment to professional development and delivering high-quality legal services.

One of the aspects Abbie enjoys most about her role is supporting people during what can be an extremely difficult and traumatic time in their lives. She finds it particularly rewarding to guide clients through the claims process, helping to make complex and challenging situations more manageable. Abbie also enjoys the investigative nature of litigation, including analysing evidence, identifying key issues and building strong cases on behalf of her clients.

Abbie takes a client-focused approach to her work, recognising the importance of building trust and maintaining strong communication throughout a claim. She is committed to ensuring clients feel listened to, supported and informed at every stage of the process, combining empathy and understanding with clear and practical legal advice.

Outside of work, Abbie enjoys spending time with her family, attending music concerts and travelling.
