Daniel is a very experienced personal injury solicitor who has been qualified for over 20 years, throughout which time he has specialised in personal injury claims and claims for industrial disease.

Daniel is a partner at Thompsons Solicitors who specialises in silicosis cases. He represents clients with serious, often fast-developing illness, building strong expert teams to secure compensation, rehabilitation and long-term support while challenging under-reporting and unsafe practices.

Daniel is based in Thompsons' Dagenham office, but also supervises a team of lawyers specialising in industrial disease claims across the firm’s London and Eastern offices. He is the firm's national coordinator for Covid claims.

Daniel also has particular expertise in industrial disease claims, including claims arising from Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome, noise-induced hearing loss, repetitive strain, work-related stress and claims under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations.

His caseload is typically high-value and complex claims, including those involving chronic pain.

Daniel appreciates the difference the claims he pursues can make in terms of both the effect on an individual client’s life but also, working for Thompsons, the chance to assist trade unions in improving health and safety in the workplace.

Outside work, Daniel enjoys the cinema, foreign travel and, when not spending time with his children, an occasional game of golf.

Daniel recently organised and chaired an APPG meeting at Westminster calling for tougher enforcement and a ban on high-silica engineered stone. Read more ‘Experts unite at Westminster to call for action on silica exposure crisis.’

Daniel's case experience

  • Acted for a group of council gardeners who had each developed Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome as a result of their work. Each worker received a six-figure settlement.
  • Secured a six-figure settlement for a Unite member who suffered a strain injury to his wrist when not provided with appropriate equipment by his employer.
  • Recovered a six-figure sum for an ASLEF member who suffered bullying, harassment and discrimination by fellow workers.
