A specialist serious injury lawyer from national firm Thompsons Solicitors is offering his time, expertise and experience to a free law clinic being managed by law students at Teesside University.

David Robinson, a solicitor who specialises in complex injury claims, including claims for individuals who have suffered head injuries and brain injuries, spinal cord injuries and amputations, said: “Access to the law is being taken away from hardworking people by this government piece by piece. The government’s so called reforms have reduced access to personal injury advice, they are about to introduce fees in employment tribunals and they even threaten to leave injured people on their own to take on the goliath insurance companies in cases worth as much as £5,000.

This free law clinic is an excellent initiative. The aim is to get free advice to the public from tomorrow’s budding lawyers”.

David went on to say: “I applaud Teesside University for once again working in partnership to meet the needs of the local community. Thompsons Solicitors is a firm at the heart of the Middlesbrough Community, and we are committed to doing what we can to make this free law clinic successful”.

The law clinic is formerly launched this evening, 20 September 2012, when David will be meeting some of the students who are to be involved.
