A Deeside woman has received £4200 compensation after she was injured in a car accident while driving home from mother’s house during the new year break.

Mrs J, 30, was in the left hand passenger seat travelling along Golftyn Lane on the afternoon of January 3rd when another car pulled out of York Road and collided into the right hand side of the vehicle she was travelling in.

Following the accident Mrs J developed neck pain and stiffness together with pain to the right shoulder and upper back. The pain meant she could no longer go to the gym, do basic housework or even get a decent night’s sleep.

Thompsons Solicitors made claim for compensation

As the pain continued, Mrs J contacted personal injury specialists Thompsons Solicitors to pursue a claim for compensation.

Thompsons argued that the driver of the other car was at fault for the road accident for failing to pay attention to the road markings and for emerging from York Road without checking for oncoming traffic.

The driver of the other car quickly admitted liabilty and agreed to settle out of court.

Mrs J said: “I knew it wasn’t right that I had to pay expensive medical bills and rely on others to do my housework when the accident wasn’t my fault. Thompsons handled my claim quickly and professionally and I’m really happy with how it all worked out.”

Charlotte Barnett from Thompsons Solicitors added: “Mrs J has been put through a lot of pain and inconvenience through no fault of her own and we’re pleased to have been able to have helped her get compensation so quickly.”

Mrs J is now receiving physiotherapy with the NHS and is due to make a full recovery by the middle of next year.
