Ian is based at Thompsons Solicitors’ Bristol office and is a specialist within the personal injury and industrial disease teams.

After qualifying as a solicitor in 1990, Ian cut his professional teeth on complex personal injury claims, including those relating to disease, orthopaedic injury and consequential psychiatric injury.

A capable and experienced solicitor with over 30 years of legal experience, Ian specialises in work-related cases and, in particular, nautical personal injury claims. His work in industrial disease is focused on hearing loss, upper limb disorders, hand-arm vibration syndrome, respiratory illnesses, cumulative trauma injuries, and exposure to hazardous substances.

Thompsons Solicitors’ clients who need representation where there are complex issues of liability to be decided, can rely on Ian’s extensive record of painstaking investigation and thorough case handling.

Ian’s succinct and concise approach benefits both his clients – with whom he communicates in clear and everyday language – and the progress of their cases, which Ian guides through the litigation process efficiently and with a focus on securing the best result possible.

Ian is proud to work at Thompsons because the firm stands up for working people. He believes the most rewarding aspect of working for Thompsons is being able to assist clients in difficulty with a first rate service, and it gives him great satisfaction to know that he has made a difference to someone’s life.

Outside of work, Ian spends time with his two children and enjoys mountain walking.
