Lea is an experienced Paralegal who assist qualified lawyers and senior lawyers with high value and complex clinical negligence and serious injury cases.
Lea is passionate about ensuring that every client that she works with feels well supported, and she prides herself on her work ethic and ability to communicate complex medical evidence and legal concepts in a client friendly manner. She identifies greatly with Thompsons’ commitment to seeking justice, and has deepened her understanding on the day to day effects of injustice by volunteering for pro bono organisations alongside working and studying to qualify as a solicitor. One of Lea’s primary motivations is ensuring that clients can return, as far as possible, to living as fulfilling a life as they should be.
Lea assists closely on a number of cases including those relating to birth injury, delayed diagnoses, road traffic accidents and accidents at work. Separately to working on existing cases, she also makes use of her experience by assisting the team with managing initial enquiries.
In 2022 Lea assisted closely on a serious injury case relating to an accident at work, which involved multiple orthopaedic injuries and a brain injury resulting in a Functional Neurological Disorder. This settled successfully for over £250,000.
In March 2024 she played a key role in assisting with the settlement of a complex fatal claim relating to a failure to diagnose and treat a tumour for £500,000.
She is presently assisting on a multimillion pound complex clinical negligence case relating to a hospital misdiagnosis.
