Jack is a lawyer specialising in personal injury at Thompsons’ Birmingham office, applying a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role.

Jack’s day-to-day focus surrounds the litigation of fast-track personal injury claims for clients who have sustained injury at work or in public accidents.

Throughout his career at Thompsons, Jack has successfully recovered compensation for many claimants in cases of varying complexity.  Such cases often involve technical defences, multiple defendants and insolvent defendants.

As part of the Ex-Portal Fast-Track team, Jack’s clients are often members of trade unions.  Jack initially worked as part of the Unite team at the National Litigation Unit in Stoke-on-Trent but since 2023, his work covers all union clients.

Jack is a Damages Claims Portal Champion, providing training materials and guidance to team members at Birmingham about the online portal for managing litigated claims.

Jack started his career with Thompsons in 2017.  As an advocate for the trade union movement, Jack is strongly motivated by the firm’s values of social and legal justice and is grateful that his role enables him to stand up for people who have been disadvantaged.  Jack’s friendly, empathetic approach ensures a consistently high standard of client care.

Outside the office, Jack is a football fanatic.  When he is not playing football for his Sunday League team, he is supporting Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.

Jack's Case Experience

  • One of Jack’s notable cases is that of a client who was crushed between two automated robotic vehicles at his place of work whilst he was en route to perform maintenance on one of the vehicles.  At trial, the judge found that there was a history of previous incidents of a similar nature and the Defendant failed to adequately risk-assess the nature of the automated robotic vehicle’s work when in close proximity to employees and the client was awarded compensation for his physical and psychological injuries.  This case is now considered a precedent in a world where AI is the new norm.
