We are aware that an individual (or individuals) has been cold-calling people and wrongly claiming to be from Thompsons Solicitors. We are actively trying to identify the source of these false calls and will involve the appropriate authorities as soon as we have anything concrete to pass on.

If you have been cold-called by someone claiming to be from Thompsons please let us know.

We pride ourselves on upholding the highest levels of professional conduct throughout our almost hundred-year history. To impose ourselves, uninvited, on  people’s lives at a time when they are likely at their lowest ebb – either as a result of a personal injury or a dispute with their employer over workers’ rights – would not be in line with our values as a firm.

We are naturally concerned that people are being contacted, and potentially intimidated, by someone abusing our name and have launched an investigation.

Thompsons has campaigned against cold-calling and believe claims management companies should be banned from operating in personal injury all together, yet the government is strangely reluctant to do so.  We believe that is due to pressure from the insurance companies who own claims management companies, and who want them to exist as a way to prevent injured people from getting advice from independent law firms.
