Committee member Imogen Wetton reports on the activities of Headway Preston and Chorley. Imogen is a specialist brain injury solicitor at Thompsons Solicitors.

“Headway Preston and Chorley was only established in October 2010 but their volunteers continue to achieve by developing and delivering a range of services for people with acquired brain injury and their families and carers. They are now in the process of applying for grants to enable them to increase the services they already provide. They aim to gain enough funding to recruit a Development Worker to oversee the Drop In, Information Evening and Education Evenings and also to extend the Drop-In to a weekly service.

“On 14th September 2011 a fundraising Golf Day will be held at Hesketh Golf Course in Southport which is their biggest fundraising event ever and a team from Thompsons Solicitors will also be teeing off in support of the event.”

Imogen continues: “All the volunteers have worked incredibly hard to put on such a wide range of desperately needed activities and events for people with brain injuries and their families and carers over the past year. A programme of family education and support evenings is also starting in September and everyone is busily preparing for the 1st Birthday Party on Friday 14th October at the Marriott Hotel in Preston. Tickets are available soon.”
