Appeal for help from people who worked at St Kevin’s Roman Catholic School for Boys on Barwick Road, Leeds from 1962 to 1984

Betty worked as a part time dinner lady for St Kevin’s Roman Catholic School for Boys on Barwick Road, Leeds from 1962 to 1984. The school is now known as St Theresa's Junior School.

One of Thompsons’ lines of enquiry includes finding out more about building work which is believed to have taken place at the school while Betty worked there.

Thompsons want to know more about the nature of that work.

Betty’s daughter in law Susan Pearson said: “When Betty became ill we had no idea she was suffering from cancer. It came as such a shock when we were told it was mesothelioma. Following her death the family decided to pursue compensation for her husband, Frederick, who cared for her when she was ill.

“She was 88 when she was diagnosed with mesothelioma but we firmly believe she would still be here if it was not for the disease.”
