The scheme, devised by the not-for-profit Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), allows law firms to work strategically with APIL to face key challenges affecting injured people by supporting the organisation’s campaigning and research work.

Clare Mellor, Chief Executive at Thompsons, said “As a leading personal injury practice committed to social justice, we are concerned to have seen the ‘justice gap’ widen due to various reforms and county court delays.  Injured people and their families have suffered as a result.  We are proud to be involved in this scheme as a founder member, to work and campaign with APIL to meet these challenges and improve the lives of injured people” .

APIL Chief Executive, Mike Benner, said: “I am delighted to welcome Thompsons Solicitors as a founder member of our scheme. Injured people and their lawyers are subject to all kinds of misconceptions and reforms which are not in the best interest of victims and survivors.  Thompsons Solicitors will now play a major part in supporting us to help put that right.
