David developed occupational asthma after working in close proximity to mould spores. Despite raising concerns with his employer about the poor and hazardous conditions of his working environment, no action was taken to remove the mould.
David developed an aggressive cough and wheezy chest and was forced to take time off work. Five months after it appeared, the mould was eventually removed but David now needs to use two asthma inhalers on a daily basis to manage his respiratory condition. Thompsons secured £12,000 in compensation for David.
David said: “It took my employer months to take any action, and as a result I’m left with a condition that still affects me years on. The support I received from Thompsons Solicitors and the dedication with which they pursued my employer for compensation was great. The end result has brought some sense of justice for my employer’s negligence.”
