Emily first began studying Law at Cardiff University in September 2012, graduating in 2015 with a 2:1 LLB degree. She then completed the Legal Practice Course on a part-time basis at Swansea University while working and gaining experience in the legal sector.

In November 2017, Emily joined Thompsons Solicitors as an asbestos support assistant and, during the summer of 2019, secured a training contract which she began in September 2019. Emily completed her training contract in December 2020 to qualify as a solicitor.

Emily is now a lawyer within our asbestos team, based in Llanelli, and has experience in dealing with both malignant and benign asbestos-related diseases. She also coordinates ongoing claims for private treatment for mesothelioma clients across Wales and the South West. Emily’s main focus in her role is to ensure that her clients are treated with understanding, and to make the claims process as clear and straightforward as possible for them.

Emily believes that the most rewarding thing about working at Thompsons is the firm’s client-driven attitude and its strong identity rooted in trade unions, and finds it highly rewarding to represent people in need and to assist them in seeking justice.

Outside of work, Emily enjoys reading, writing, travelling and playing the flute.
