J.M. Parsons & Co and Thompsons Solicitors to hold fundraising event
A fundraising evening is to be held at Parc y Scarlets, Llanelli on Friday 27 April 2018 to raise money for Mesothelioma UK and Llanelli Labour Party.
Local law firm J.M. Parsons & Co is hosting a fundraising evening for the charity Mesothelioma UK and Llanelli Labour Party on Friday 27 April 2018 at Parc y Scarlets in Llanelli, two years after the death of the firm’s founder.
Vaughan Gething, Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Services for the Welsh Government will be the keynote speaker at the event, which is being held in Jeffrey Parsons’ memory.
Following the passing of the much-admired asbestos solicitor in April 2016, J M Parsons & Co partnered with national law firm Thompsons Solicitors to support victims of asbestos related diseases in south Wales.
The partnership has since gone from strength to strength under the management of Amanda Jones.
J.M. Parsons & Co continues to offer specialist support from its offices in Llanelli and blends local knowledge with the vast national expertise of Thompsons to deliver the best outcomes for our clients.

J.M. Parsons & Co has secured over £1.5m in damages over the last two years. The Claimants who have settled their cases worked in a variety of locations when they were exposed to asbestos such as Port Talbot Steelworks, Velindre and Trostre Tinplate works, BP Llandarcy and Baglan Bay, and Carmarthen Bay and Pembroke Power Station.
A J.M. Parsons & Co client from Neath whose case has recently settled said: “At every stage the team at J.M. Parsons & Co treated me with empathy and compassion, and did everything in their power to make the process as simple as possible.”
Among a range of fundraising activities and discussions on the night, there will also be presentations from Sarah Morgan, All Wales Mesothelioma UK Clinical Nurse Specialist and Liz Darlison, Head of Services at Mesothelioma UK.
A fundraising day will also be held on Friday 27 April across all branches of Thompsons Solicitors to raise money for Mesothelioma UK.
Amanda Jones, specialist asbestos solicitor said: “I know Jeffrey would be proud of our continued commitment to fundraise for victims of asbestos disease. We’ve organised successful coffee mornings for Macmillan at Llanelli Tennis Club supported by choirs from Stebonheath and Coedcae schools.
“J.M. Parsons & Co continues to offer specialist support from its offices in Llanelli and blends local knowledge with the vast national expertise of Thompsons to deliver the best outcomes for our clients. Asbestos disease diagnosis? Talk to us for advice and support on how to secure compensation.
If you or a loved one have been diagnosed with an asbestos-related disease, we can support you with advice on how to make a claim.
The process will be explained in plain English and with no obligation – our priority is to provide you with the best, expert advice on whether you have a valid case for compensation, and to signpost you to further sources of support.
There are strict time limits applied to making a claim – usually three years from the date of diagnosis. It doesn’t matter if the exposure to asbestos took place – as it often does – decades ago, the three year time limit applies to the date of knowledge of diagnosis or date of death.
