We’re proud to act for Headway members and their families to provide legal support to those with acquired brain injuries. Thompsons Solicitors has a long-standing relationship with the outstanding brain injury charity Headway, and we are ready to help you, too.

While each brain injury varies in its severity, often the effects can be serious and life-changing for both the injured person and their loved ones. At Thompsons, we understand how vital it is that people who have been affected by brain injuries are offered the very best legal and personal support to ensure the best possible quality of life.

Our legal specialists are able to help those injured, and their families, to secure the highest possible compensation, through interim payments to fund their immediate care and a full assessment of the long-term rehabilitation needs of the brain injury survivor. We work closely with Headway to ensure our clients continue to receive information, services and support long after their claim has ended.

As a UK-wide law firm, we have lawyers who are active members of local Headway branches with many acting as secretaries for their group and participating in social activities such as Look Ahead in the North. We are pleased to join other members at various Headway conferences throughout the year, including The Way Ahead, and in 2016 we ran a Christmas card competition with the charity which saw over 100 entries from Headway members.

Most importantly, we have supported hundreds of Headway members across the UK in compensation claims after traumatic brain injury, and we can help you too. Here are stories from just two of our brain injury clients:

Thompsons' brain injury advert

Patrick’s story:

Patrick fell 23 feet to the floor when scaffolding he was stood on gave way, as it had been built with the wrong type of bolts. His family were told by doctors he wouldn’t survive and he was in hospital for four years, where he needed extensive rehabilitation.

He is severely disabled because of his injury, which affects his ability to walk and talk.

Thompsons Solicitors secured a substantial settlement for Patrick, including interim payments, which meant he could move to an adapted bungalow.

Robin’s story:

16-year-old Robin suffered a severe brain injury after he was hit by a car driving on the wrong side of the road. He was in a coma for five days and spent a further three weeks in hospital.

His dad thanked Thompsons for its “negotiating skills”, and Robin has called the solicitor who dealt with his case his “guardian angel”.

Thompsons’ expertise in brain injury claims has been recognised by its inclusion in Headway’s Head Injury Solicitors Directory. We adhere to Headway’s Personal Injury Lawyers Code of Conduct, ensuring you are in safe hands when you turn to us for legal support.
