From Parliament and Labour Party Conference to TUC Congress, workplace safety forums and international legal conferences, we spent the month sharing expertise, strengthening partnerships and contributing to discussions on the issues that matter most to working people and their families.

While the events themselves were varied, a common theme ran throughout: the importance of ensuring that people are properly protected at work, treated fairly and able to access justice when things go wrong.

A significant part of the month was spent working alongside our trade union partners. At the Pre-Congress Parliamentary Reception, TUC Congress and Labour Party Conference, we joined trade union leaders, politicians, activists and campaigners to discuss the future of workers' rights, workplace protections, public services and economic growth.

Health and safety was another major focus. At the 37th National Hazards Conference, Philip Liptrot, Head of Personal Injury Policy, Dan Poet, Silicosis Lead and Neil Baines, Senior Asbestos lawyer, shared their expertise on issues affecting workers across the country, including asbestos exposure, silicosis, violence and abuse at work, and the enforcement of health and safety law.

These discussions reinforced the importance of prevention, strong workplace protections and the vital role trade unions continue to play in making workplaces safer. Philip explained the centrality of reporting of incidents and near misses.

The month also highlighted our work supporting people affected by life-changing injuries and illnesses. Through engagement with the South Yorkshire Acquired Brain Injury Forum and health and safety campaigners, we joined professionals and support organisations committed to improving outcomes for injured people and raising awareness of the challenges they face.

Alongside our UK activities, James Riley, Head of our Cross Border Personal Injury team, attended the PEOPIL Annual Conference in Rome, exchanging knowledge with lawyers from across Europe and beyond. The conference demonstrated how collaboration across borders can help strengthen legal practice and improve outcomes for clients, while reinforcing the universal importance of access to justice.

September also gave us an opportunity to stand alongside campaigners, trade unionists and local communities at the Burston Strike School Rally. The event remains a powerful reminder of the struggle for workers' rights and the enduring importance of solidarity, collective action and standing up for what is right.

Looking back across the month, the settings may have been different - Parliament, conference halls, university lecture theatres, community events and international forums - but the objective remained the same.

Whether discussing employment rights, workplace safety, industrial disease, serious injury, public policy or international legal developments, our focus remains on helping working people, supporting their unions and ensuring access to justice for those who need it most.

We would like to thank everyone we met throughout September and look forward to continuing these conversations in the months ahead.
