Harriet Mearns-Thomas is a personal injury lawyer who works at Thompsons’ Cardiff office.

Specialising in cases involving accidents and civil assaults, Harriet has nearly a decade of legal experience in a broad variety of personal injury claims. She has managed a number of multi-track accident claims, and is an expert in occupiers’ liability and public liability cases.

Harriet has achieved successful outcomes for many Thompsons clients who have suffered injuries, including those of an orthopaedic or psychiatric nature. She values the firm’s pledge to act solely for victims, and finds this the most rewarding aspect of working for Thompsons.

Outside of work, Harriet is a board member of Remembering Srebrenica Wales, a charity that raises awareness of the Srebrenica genocide.

Case experience

A client of Harriet’s was assaulted whilst caring for a service user who had not been adequately risk-assessed by her employer, the defendant in the claim. Harriet obtained compensation for the client for the physical and psychological injuries suffered as a result of the attack.
