Andre has been with Thompsons since October 2024, handling a varied caseload of pre-litigated employer and public liability personal injury claims.
Andre negotiates settlements with opponent insurers and solicitors to secure compensation on behalf of injured clients. Where liability has been denied, Andre conducts investigations into evidence, advises upon the prospects of claims and prepares them for issue at court.
Andre thrives in contentious civil litigation matters where he enjoys considering novel arguments to further clients’ objectives. Andre has taken a particular interest in claims involving vicarious liability where social justice can be achieved through directing claims against employers whose employees’ negligence have injured his clients.
Andre completed his undergraduate law degree at Cardiff University and, during his third year, authored a dissertation examining the European Court of Human Rights’ application of convention rights in the question of assisted dying.
Having loved Cardiff so much, Andre completed his Master of Law degree in legal practice there, and set aside three months to research and write a dissertation examining the change in doctrine of vicarious liability between 1998-2023.
After graduating his Masters degree, Andre explored where his interests rested within the civil litigation field, and previously worked as a tax, commercial and fraud litigation paralegal.
Outside of the office, Andre loves tennis, walks in the countryside and cooking. Andre has taken a particular interest to exploring the towns and cities of northern and mid Portugal and Spain.
