A highly experienced senior lawyer based in Thompsons Solicitors’ Manchester office, Rosalyn has a caseload dominated by high value medical negligence claims.

Rosalyn has taken cases from across the North West involving the loss of limbs, trauma to the brain, cerebral palsy, misdiagnosis of cancer, birth injuries and claims related to fatalities.

Rosalyn has a well-deserved reputation for working hard for her clients to achieve the highest possible compensation in the quickest time possible.

From the beginning of any case Rosalyn ensures that her seriously injured clients, invariably enduring the most traumatic period of their lives, get the help they need before any final settlement is reached. Rosalyn negotiates initial payments to cover the costs of specialist care and treatment and to cover existing financial loss.

Apart from her robust, hands-on and efficient approach to litigation, Rosalyn is also known for her open and empathetic approach to clients.

Rosalyn is proud of Thompsons’ insistence on only representing the injured party and never those who might be responsible for those injuries or insurance companies.

Outside work, Rosalyn is kept extremely busy by her two small children.

Rosalyn negotiated £20,000 compensation for the family of 83-year-old Myfanwy Osborne. The retired teacher died of pneumonia after developing sepsis from bed sores at Beechfields Nursing Home, Lichfield. An Adult Protection inquiry found the care at Beechfields fell below expected standards and that negligence had led to Myfanwy’s death. Two nurses employed by the home resigned.

Rosalyn secured compensation for the family of a young woman who killed herself in Heddfan psychiatric unit at Maelor Hospital in Wrexham. The 21-year-old café assistant had hanged herself and died three days later without regaining consciousness. She had been sectioned under the Mental Health Act in September 2014 after repeated bouts of self-harm, but had been a voluntary patient at the unit on numerous occasions previously. An inquest returned a verdict of death by misadventure.

Alison Brown: “You have been a great help. If I hadn't come to you and not pursued then it would have always been there that I should have and what if. I can finally put my dad at peace and hopefully recover myself knowing I've done all I can. It wasn't about compensation it was about other families not being put through what we have had to.”

Chris Crimes and Family: “We were treated with great compassion and everything was explained in simple terms with great clarity. Thank you so much for your advice and understand with this matter.”
