Chartered legal executive Michelle is a member of Thompson Solicitors’ national Serious Injury Team and is based in Newcastle.

Michelle draws on more than 30 years of legal experience and specialises in personal injury, clinical negligence and industrial diseases including deafness and upper limb disorders.

With an expansive knowledge of industrial disease cases, Michelle assists the lead solicitor on a test litigation involving toxic cabin air claims made by airline crew members.

Michelle’s friendly but tenacious approach assists in her primary duties of liaising with clients on a day-to-day basis, taking statements, locating and reviewing records, considering defendant disclosures and issuing proceedings.

Michelle finds working at Thompsons rewarding because the firm stands alone in only dealing with those that have been injured and helping them in their time of need.

Outside of work, Michelle can often be found with her head in a book.

Accident at work claim: Michelle represented a long distance lorry driver who slipped on a ladder attached to his HGV and sustained a head injury. Although the employer did not admit liability, the case was settled for a five figure sum.

Toxic cabin air claim: Michelle is assistant to the lead solicitor in a test case involving Unite the Union members who have developed health conditions after breathing in toxic fumes while working as airline cabin crew.

Michelle has been a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Legal Executives since 2006.
