Amy is a litigation assistant, working in the serious injury team at Thompsons Solicitors' Manchester office, handling road traffic accidents, accidents at work and in public places for clients across the North West

As well as running a number of her own fast-track claims, Amy assists senior solicitors in high-value cases for clients damaged by traumatic and life-changing accidents, such as those resulting in brain injuries and spinal cord injuries

Amy is involved in the cases from the very start to settlement. Compassionate and diligent, Amy makes sure that she keeps her clients informed throughout what is often a lengthy legal process. Amy will identify and instruct suitable experts, draft and update clients’ Schedules of Loss, make court applications and issue proceedings. She also attends meetings with clients, conferences with Counsel and meetings to negotiate settlements.

Previously, Amy managed sensitive Court of Protection cases, working with clients and their families to ensure funds were used appropriately. Amy has also worked as an Assistant Case Manager for clients who lack mental or physical capacity as a result of clinical negligence or serious personal injuries. Amy supported their legal teams by helping build evidence and ensuring clients receive the care, support, therapies, equipment and accommodation they needed.

Amy finds her work at Thompsons rewarding because of its client-focus; this enables her to make a difference to seriously injured clients, having a positive impact on their future.

In her spare time, Amy likes to walk in and around West Yorkshire, Saddleworth and the Peak District, when she’s not scuba diving with her husband or experimenting with new gluten-free recipes.

Amy is an unregistered Barrister having recently been called to the Bar of England and Wales by The Honourable Society of the Middle Temple.
