Based in Llanelli, Kim works in the asbestos team dealing with claims from across the South West and Wales.

Many of Kim’s clients have lung cancer or mesothelioma but there are also clients with non-malignant asbestos conditions

Kim is always very aware that her clients need prompt, clear and concise advice. She seeks to pass on her skills in the supervision of a trainee solicitor at the firm.

Being part of a team is a big part of being at Thompsons and Kim likes it that the team is focussed solely on claimants and never insurers or employers.

When she is not working, Kim reads, enjoys photography and is getting into Geneaology

Kim's case experience

  • Secured a five-figure sum for a husband whose wife died from mesothelioma after washing the overalls he wore at his job as a scaffolder in numerous refineries in West Wales.
  • Secured a six-figure sum for a client who died of mesothelioma after coming into contact with asbestos while working as a secretary at Aston University.
  • Successfully represented two victims of mesothelioma, a former post room worker diagnosed at 47 and a former secretary diagnosed in her seventies, after they were exposed to asbestos during renovation work at BT's Cardiff offices.
  • Recovered significant damages in the High Court for a former kitchen assistant who was diagnosed with mesothelioma in her seventies as a result of 10 years' work in a school in Birmingham.
